Fermata Discovery

ABOUT US

Fermata Discovery is a female-founded software development firm.  We create investigation performance and management tools at the intersection of software engineering, data science and artificial intelligence. We’re making a positive impact on the justice system by accelerating the speed of investigation.

As we’ve experienced the positive impact of using open source intelligence in investigations, we wanted to make it easier to access and analyze multiple data sources at once, in addition to providing a case management platform to organize the information.

Our first product, VIXN, is a robust techkit that helps investigators and analysts gather, review and visualize data at scale.  Discovery of case-critical insights happens up to 750x faster than manual investigation methods.  Currently, a defense team’s timeline for discovery is 6-8 months.  With VIXN, that process can be reduced by 50%.

VIXN particularly excels at cases involving a significant number of actors, including but not limited to conspiracy, collusion, extortion, missing persons, crime rings, and human trafficking cases.

The Fermata team includes MIT-trained engineers, federal law enforcement agents and private sector executives who collectively build the tools investigators and analysts need to fight smarter on behalf of the people they serve and defend.

Fermata Discovery, Inc. – Certified as a Woman-Owned (8a) Small Business

NEW YORK – Nov. 23, 2021 – PRLog — Fermata Discovery, Inc. is certified as a Woman-Owned (8a) Small Business (WOSB) by the Small Business Administration (SBA).  Certification gives visibility to woman-owned businesses, as well as helps buyers meet their 5% federal subcontracting goals.

Fermata’s female owners and founders, Amanda von Goetz, CEO, and Lisa Pscolkoski, COO, brought their software company to life in 2019.  Their flagship product, VIXN (Visualize Insights across Networks), began as a tool to accelerate the legal discovery process, and has evolved into an end-to-end investigation management platform for the private and public sectors.

Fermata is building out a strong public sector presence, led by Matthew Jack, retired Deputy Executive Director of Law Enforcement Sharing Initiatives, HSI Department of Homeland Security.

“Fermata Discovery’s VIXN is filling information sharing gaps and removing information from silos to visualize actionable intelligence,” says Jack. The company is actively seeking strategic partnerships and contracting opportunities.
